WEST CHESTER, Pa., April 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Key Financial, Inc., a Forbes and Barron’s nationally recognized wealth management firm in West Chester, PA will be holding a Document Shred Event on Monday April 29th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will be held at their West Chester office, located at 1045 Andrew Drive, Suite A. Clients of Key Financial, as well as members of the Chester County community are encouraged to bring any old tax information or other documents that they would like to shred in a safe and secure manner. “We have had many requests from our clients throughout the year asking how they can safely dispose of old tax returns or confidential documents,” explained Bernadette Hunter, Director of Client Engagement at Key Financial. “We held this event for the first time last year and the response was unbelievable! We have secured a larger truck for this year to accommodate the anticipated demand.”
Local CPA Bruce Boylston of Rothman Boylston, LLC has high praise for events like these. “With all of our attention focused on cyber security we tend to overlook our paper. A study not too long ago showed that one in five data breaches involved paper documents. Most tax documents still reflect your social security number along with other information. Best practice is to always shred your paper documents”.
Employees of Key Financial will accept any type of paper and file folders – no need to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands. Cardboard, plastic or metal CDs or DVDs cannot be accepted. Key Financial, Inc. provides comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services. President and CEO, Patti Brennan, is proud to offer this service to the community. “I think we have all heard the scary and devastating stories of what happens to innocent people who have had their identities stolen. As far as I’m concerned, this is the least I can do to give my clients and others in the community an added measure of security so that they can have the peace of mind they deserve.” Brennan also serves the community by sitting on the Boards of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital and Cuddle My Kids.
